Up, Up, Ever Up!

Junko Tabei challenged stereotypes to fulfil her dream of climbing mountains. Junko led an all-women team to climb Mount Everest, and even an avalanche didn’t stop her from reaching the summit. Beyond mountain climbing, she was passionate about protecting the mountains, campaigning to ensure they remained unpolluted from tourist waste.
